Finding Your Balance-Spring Healing Retreat

Did you know that spring is an optimum time for weight loss and balance? According to Kontain.com “Most people try to lose weight as a New Year’s resolution and that is when the body likes to hold onto weight to keep us warm. Just as spring is the time to air out and deep clean your house from the winter months, the same is true for our bodies. The increasingly longer daylight hours, along with warmer temperatures, gives everyone an energy boost. This makes spring the optimum time to begin a weight loss/wellness program.”

There is a saying that “disease begins in the mind and the colon.” The body gets “diseased” from the mind as a result of negative thinking while the colon can bring disease into the body by way of undigested food hanging out there. It is then that we begin experiencing those yucky sensations, such as “fatigue, heaviness, constipation, indigestion, gas, diarrhea, and bloating.” And who wants to go through springtime like that?

Kontain.com explains that springtime “is associated with morning, rebirth, creativity and making plans,” but there’s a need to cleanse the liver to reach such rejuvenation. “According to TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine), the liver holds anger against ourselves, keeping things inside and sometimes exploding. Its authentic character is ‘balance’, its virtue is harmony, and its attributes are beauty and elegance. It helps to facilitate events, and it exercises leadership.” For many, “this is the season when you experience your true self; whether you are balanced or in need of balance physically and emotionally.”

Lakehouse RetreatIt is our mission at Life’s Journey Yoga & Wellness to cultivate emotional balance, so we will be holding a Spring Retreat in Keystone Heights designed to specifically help you balance your emotions and improve your immune system. Simply step into our retreat on April 30…and then on May 2, step out a fresher you!

Another reason this retreat is so timely is because you’ll get to kick off the month of May eating lighter (in a fulfilling way), and it’s a good practice to fast or eat lightly on the first day of any month to prep your body for a healthier month. To assist you with flushing out those richer, heavier winter foods, our retreat will include foods that are easier on the digestive system and nourish the body on a cellular level, thus, creating a stronger immune system.

Relaxing activities and time spent in nature will also be tools used at the retreat for bringing a stronger balance into your life. Gentle yoga classes will begin each day while an optional group activity, such as Chakra Bowl balancing, will conclude the day. In a Chakra Bowl session, you will feel and enjoy how the beautiful vibration of these healing bowls balance energy within your body. Throughout the retreat, you’ll also hear soft, healing music playing in the background…..or you can simply step outside to enjoy the sounds, sights and smells of nature with the use of our peddle boat, canoe, kayak, labyrinth and bikes. All accommodation packages include these items along with a FREE pre-retreat consultation, bed, bath, three health conscious meals, and the morning and evening group classes.

Thai Yoga Massage

Living Food Consultation – Hands-on kitchen consultation to introduce enzyme-filled foods ideal for improving digestion and healing a variety ailments.
