A healthy escape could be closer to home than you might think!

Here are four relaxing ways that will allow you to get away and take an escape that doesn’t require a long drive or plane ticket. These “getaways” are economical and can easily fit into your busy schedule.

(1) The Yoga Studio: While yoga is physically great for you, it can also initiates mental calmness as it reduces stress. Because of the concentration required to do yoga, the mind is able to let go, therefore, daily troubles seem to naturally melt away. Yoga provides a break from stressors and helps put life and its related “issues” into perspective.

(2) Meditation: While a meditative state is a natural outcome of yoga, there are some key benefits that come with the sole process of meditating. While the spiritual benefits of meditation include supreme bliss and enlightenment, which can’t hurt anyone, there are some physical benefits, too. Meditation has been known to reduce anxiety attacks, decrease muscle tension (any pain due to tension), decrease headaches, and reduce pre-menstrual syndrome to name a few.  Did you know meditation also helps to build self-confidence?

(3) Reiki: This is subtle energy work that is extremely powerful for balancing the mind, body, and spirit. It can create deep relaxation and aid the body with releasing stress and tension. Reiki can also assist the body with cleansing toxins while supporting the immune system and helping with spiritual growth and emotional clearing.

(4) Massage: It’s no secret how good massage feels, but the benefits are more than just skin deep. Massage relieves stress, encourages relaxation, improves circulation, lowers blood pressure, improves flexibility and range of motion, promotes deeper and easier breathing, relieves headaches, and strengthens the immune system, and so much more.

So, the next time you feel the need to get away but don’t have a great deal of time or money, try any of the above for an invigorating healthy escape. You may find that the greatest vacation of all lies within your own health and well-being!
