Downward Facing Dog: -Stretches the legs, spine, and whole body -Builds strength throughout the body, particularly the arms, legs, and feet – Relieves fatigue and rejuvenates the body -Improves the immune system and digestion -Gets blood and lymph moving in opposite directions -Helps relieve symptoms of menopause -Relieves menstrual discomfort when the pose is done with head supported -Relieves headaches, insomnia and, back pain -Is therapeutic for high blood pressure, asthma, flat feet, sciatica, and sinusitis -Helps relieve stress and mild depression -Calms the mind and lifts the spirit. Now that you know that Downward Facing Dog is not just a popular yoga pose but also has numerous benefits, take a hint from our canine friends and enjoy this fun and easy pose anytime, anywhere! Of course, if you are not already familiar with this posture, be sure to have a certified yoga instructor guide you through it, such as those at Life’s Journey Yoga & Wellness Center.
